Dear Friends,
By the time this edition of Infomag lands in your mailbox, you might be preparing to go on a well-deserved vacation. I hope you have a fun-filled and relaxing summer holiday!

The Cover Story takes an indepth look at Gender Equality in Korea. If equitable and sustainable economic progress is to be achieved, women's status must be improved, their rights must be respected, and their contributions recognized. In recent years, women's social participation has become active in Korean society and the social recognition of women's rights and roles have changed.

The In Focus section gives you a round-up of 3D technology, that seems to be rage today. It appears that the era of 3D TV has finally arrived. In recent times, Korean firms have enjoyed a boom in sales of 3D televisions thanks to rising demand stoked by the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

For Infomag Talk we met with Mr. Ahn Byong-man, Minister of Education Science & Technology, who tells us about the policy vision for the ministry and his plans for this year.

In Official Speak we have interviewed Dr. Kim Yeong-seen, President of Korea Consumer Agency. The agency is a professional institution dedicated to the public and committed to enhancing consumer rights and interests.

On the lighter side, the Feature section brings you Artist Choo Kyung-im, who has introduced the computer jacquard weaving, that she learned in U.S. and Canada, to Koreans. Now she is attempting to apply new ideas-combining painting and jacquard weaving- as an innovative artist.

Wishing you a a memorable holiday!
